About the race

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Copper Town Triathlon! Many people choose to travel around the province and even the country to race in these types of events. This year it will be close to home with the 2nd annual Copper Town Triathlon being held in Bruce Mines, Ontario just a 45 minute drive from Sault Ste. Mare, Ontario.

The race features a beautiful course. The swim will start from the Bruce Mines Marina in the crisp clear waters of Bruce Bay on the shores of Lake Huron. It will then transition to the bike that will be a looped course down the tree lined roads of Copper Bay Road and finish with a scenic paved out and back run with a few hills to challenge athletes on Taylor Street.

The town of Bruce Mines founded in 1864 is home to the first copper mine in Canada. It is small and quaint with antique and specialty shops along with beautiful natural scenery. The community of Bruce Mines is welcoming this event with open arms. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to a local food bank in Bruce Mines, as well as the Youth Multisport Program through RAM Fitness. The program aims to help youth in need gain access to the equipment necessary to participate in the sport, as well as promote and develop triathlon and duathlon for youth in the Algoma District.
